Google and Verizon are in talks to secure a Mobile Search Deal, according to Wall Street Journal reports. If the deal is closed, it would make Google the default search provider for Verizon mobile devices. Previously, Verizon and other mobile technology have been reluctant to let search companies such as Google, Yahoo!, MSN and others enter this arena.
Allegedly Google, upon closing of potential deal, would share the advertising revenue generated with Verizon. The goal is to create a new search platform to streamline business, making it easy for Verizon users to access search options from their mobile devices. For updates on the progress of this union, stay tuned- from your Interactive marketing professionals at Deep Blue Computers.

NBC purchased the sole rights to broadcast the Summer Olympic Games in the United States, a distinct advantage over its competitors both in the land of television as well as online. NBC is the only media organization permitted to use the Olympics logos as well.
This failed to stop Yahoo from getting in on the action. The online marketing mind that is Yahoo maintained a series of slide shows, news and feature stories covering the Olympic Games-giving NBC a true run for its marketing and online advertising money. The creative online work of Yahoo placed them fairly close to the traffic received by NBC, giving Yahoo the larger return on its investment.
According to Nielsen analytics Yahoo attracted just as many website visitors as NBC.
NBCOlympics.com displayed in excess of 1.2 billion pages and 72 million video streams during the Olympic Games, a feat that more than doubled website traffic received during the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, as well as the 2006 Games in Turin. This extreme growth was made possible by the growth in broadband internet access.
With the impressive amount of success online video feeds and advertising are receiving, it makes great sense to create an online brand for your company and join the online giants in your industry. In the competitive and continuously evolving search engine industry, Yahoo!’s latest Search Monkey enables developers to create search result enhancements based on semantic user data collected. Initially the semantically enhanced listings were not visible or “turned on” for users by default, which was an issue because most searchers do not customize their search options.
Recently Yahoo! Has turned on several of the enhanced listings on Search Monkey by default, in efforts to experiment with the search experience and gauge user responses. The new defaults have motivated searchers to experiment with their search experiences.
Yahoo! is also supporting Search Monkey developers by continuing to evolve the program through its search options. The web is becoming increasingly semantic, with search engines and developers continuing to implement the technology and turn on the enhancements by default. Contact Deep Blue Computers for more information on search engine marketing.

Microsoft’s initial investment in the social networking website Facebook gave many the impression that live search would be integrated into the site. This was assumed for a variety of reasons, including the highly publicized deal with Google and Facebook social network competitor Myspace.
Myspace and all of Facebook’s other social network competitors all have web search capability. It has been a surprise that the social network has existed this long without search capabilities.
Within the last month Microsoft released intentions to unleash Live Search on Facebook, as well as paid search advertisements. The deal is said to be pending within the next calendar year, and Facebook users have surely noted the available “try the new Facebook” banner on their home pages.
The advertisements on the new Facebook include a thumbs up or thumbs down button for the user to guide the advertisers in the right direction. Upon clicking the up or down thumb Facebook asks the user to select the reason why they like or dislike the advertisement including options misleading, relevant, interesting, repetitive and more.
This option creates a great target marketing tool for advertisers, and for Facebook users who are participating in the process by searching the ads and providing valuable feedback to the advertisers.

Advertising on Google’s content network introduces several new advertising techniques designed to be more user friendly and targeted. The enhancements are frequency capping, frequency reporting, improved ads quality, and view-through conversions.
The new frequency capping enhancement will enable advertisers to have control over the amount of times the same ad is viewed by uses, creating a more user friendly advertising experience for users who do not care to see the same advertisement constantly. On the advertising end opinions will vary about repetition-some feeling it creates a permanent product memory, others feel consumers may block out ads deemed irritatingly repetitive.
Also added is View-through conversions to provide advertisers in-depth insights on the number of users who ended up at their website based on a particular advertisement. This assists the advertisers in placement strategies and ad relevance. It is more cost efficient for the advertising industry to advertise to a targeted market.
Frequency reporting is the next new enhancement available. This feature will tell advertisers how many people have viewed a particular ad campaign and how many times on average.
Lastly, Improved Ads Quality will be introduced. Advertising performance standards within the Google content network are set to be quality controlled, a measure that can be appreciated by both advertisers and consumers.
